There are plenty of gamers that don't care about graphics.

There are NES and SNES games that whoop the hell out of the regurgitated crap you people scuffle, scream and shoot eachother to get your fix of.

To answer the question, you would have paid the $400, sure. But Nintendo isn't shooting to compete with the PS3. They aren't bending over-backwards to sell it to you.

Why? You're either going to get one or you're getting something else, there isn't a lot they can say to alter that. And that's easy enough to see for yourself by cruising Q&A. The people who are going to buy one already want one. They don't need to be sold. The people who aren't going to buy one wouldn't buy it if it had Hi Def anyway.

It's the millions of people in between Nintendo wants. It's the parents of the kid with the PS3, who's younger brother and sister want a toy too. Who knows? The kid who plays the PS3 might even learn to enjoy a spellbinding story with fluid controls and engrossing gameplay.. you know, between episodes of frantic mindless blood letting.

Their goal is to have a system that everyone has, in addition to the PS3. Something that's quirky and fun for everyone. This is a good strategy, but not a strategy that works with a $400 price tag. To acheive this, it HAS to be inexpensive.

because the Wii is geared towards kids or casual gamers.. not hard core gamers.. the Wii was orginally a "budget" system costing around $100 or so..
