So far this year 3 high school students in our area have been killed on their way to or from school. The school bus goes right by each and every students house. Yet these kids waste gas driving to school. If the laws were changed to require kids to ride the bus instead of bringing their cars on campus it would probably save a lot of lives. If it even saved one life it would be worth it. Many collleges do not allow freshmen to have cars on campus, if they can do it why can't the highschools?

I think it is ridiculous for high school students ot have a car. They should either walk or take a bus.
They are way to immature and irresponsible.
My kids high school taught drivers Ed when the kids were 15 by first semester or 16.
My sons had jobs, so they could get their own cars. As soon as they started driving, they skipped and got in trouble.
They only lived three blocks away from school.
There are probably some children who are responsible at that age, but not very many.
They have a whole lifetime to drive, why start so early.

My high school allowed anyone who had a license to drive their car to school. When I was there, no one died on the way to school. Most accidents happened on the weekend. People should be able to drive cars to school if they want. If there is alot of deaths that means there is an issue that need to be fixed and I dont mean by taking away driving privileges.

If laws were changed to suit your views, havoc would reign supreme. Many teenagers have odd schedules that the school buses do not keep. Plus the school bus is not a reliable mode of transportation. I think it'd be ridiculous to stop kids from driving to school.

What if tomorrow a school but turns over and kills everyone? Are we going to ban the school buses and make everyone drive?
Do you have any HARD evidence that school bus is safer then driving your own car?
If so how much safer?

At my school we don't have busses. Before I could drive my mother dropped me off at 6:30 and I got picked up at 4:00. My day was longer than the janitors'.

I think that if there are school busses, it would be fine to have that policy. Considering my schools situation, though, I think it's better that we're allowed to drive.

I wrestled. I had to drive. Both of my parents had jobs and I lived 10 miles away. Now students shouldnt be driving recklessly-I agree, but they have the option for driving to school.
