Physics is the study in relation to the discovery and understanding of the fundamental laws which govern matter, energy, space and time. Simply, it is the study of how our universe operates. Philosophy encompases all of knowledge and all that can be known including the means by which such knowledge can be acquired. It is the solution to human curiosity through the human capacity to reason. Physics is more likely to lead to results since its a sceince and most theories can be proven by scientific experiments, philosophy however has many viewpoints on certain subjects by many philosophers who cant actually prove their argument, therefore it usually remains as a theory.

Hope this helps

Physics is a science. Philosophy is a belief system. The results each has are completely different. Physics can help build a bomb. Philosophy determines if, and why use the bomb.

Are you joking? Physics is a science that is based on either inductive experimentation or the hypothtico-deductive method. Philosophy is a humanities study that does not experiment or hold empirically supported theory that has predictive power. That is the great divide. Physicists have made many predictions, Einstein on gravity bending light, for example. These predictions were confirmed experimentally. Any philosophy that is confirmed, is confirmed by scientific, perhaps physicists, endeavors.

Apples and oranges. Physics is the science of matter and energy and their interactions. Philosophy is a belief (or system of beliefs) accepted as authoritative by some group. Equally important results; just in different ways.

The "philosophy" of certain early, ancient Greek persons calling themselves scientists was anything but science. According to some early philosophers, objects in motion stopped moving because the object got tired and needed to rest. The four elements were thought to be earth, air, fire and water. They looked at things and thought about them without doing any real experimentation to test their theories.
There are some who are known for having done experiments, but they're referred to as actual scientists instead of philosophers.
Philosophy usually deals with intangible things and yields intangible results. Physics deals with everything and yields real, physical, applicable results.

study of physical world vs. study of meta-physical world

I would say they both led to results on an equal par.

Good Luck!!!
