i've read about phimosis on several websites and such, phimosis being a condition whereby the foreskin over a male's penus is too tight to retract over the head of the appendage.

i've been trying to retract the skin myself, and have been gentley trying to stretch it and roll it back over a couple of days, but i'm unable to get it past the head, and it causes a large stretching pain, as if the bridge of skin between the head and the foreskin is about to tear apart, how do i know whether or not i have phimosis? i've looked everywhere, but theres nowhere that tells/illustrates how far the skin should retract normally.

It's possible you have phimosis, but it's also possible you may have frenulum breve. Look at the first two links for info on that. The last link shows how the penis looks like with the foreskin fully retracted so the entire glans is exposed.

If you're having trouble retracting because your foreskin opening is too small, then you may want to try stretching exercises. Basically, take two fingers and stretch the opening of the foreskin as far as it'll go without pain or major discomfort (like increasing its radius) by hooking a finger on either side. Do this for a few minutes each day for a few weeks to a month. If this doesn't seem to work, there are prescription creams that'll help it along.

Yes, you do have phimosis. You've done the research already. I had it too. Don't panic. Simply call your doctor and schedule a circumcision. They do it in out-patient now, so you would go home the same day. I had this done when I was 8 years old. There's nothing to it. And you'll be good as new in a few weeks. No sweat, unless you DON'T take care of this. That could lead to health issues (infections etc) Have this done soon!

You very well could. However, you need to have a doctor look at it to know for sure. At your age, it typically occurs after a recent infection, or as a result of chronic infections to the area. Typical causes of infection are a lack of hygeine. So if it is, youmight also need to see a doctor about what to do to prevent further infections also.

By the sounds of it, you'd be smart to get yourself circumcised.
Almost certainly, you'd be better off without a foreskin.
Good Luck!
