this doesn't look like partisanship by the Left...actually looks selfless of the Democratic leadership to me. this minister actually is moderate, has written a book blaming Left and Right, is about protecting our way of life above politics, and is the spokesman at this, post election point...seeking a healing of the nation.

that's what the Right doesn't get...that the Left is just as religious, but has a wider view of faith...Don't confuse the radicals with the common man...we have more in common than we have differences..it's a matter of how not what in many cases

It looks like what a liberal would call a violation of the separation of church and state. And the Democrats did it.

Liberals say that the Constitution doesn't allow morality in laws. Just look at the Supreme Dictators' decision in Lawrence v. Texas striking down sodomy laws. Liberals say that morality inevitably comes from Biblical doctrine which our deist Founding Fathers didn't want to get mixed up with the processes of government. Liberals say that the words "under God" in the pledge of allegiance were a "subversive" attempt to mix church and state.

I don't agree with liberals. I am just ranting about what those hypocrites are always talking about. I want to know why the ACLU is not up in arms filing lawsuits against Sen. Reid for violating the separation of church and state.

In 1983, the Supreme Court ruled that it is permissible for state legislatures (and Congress) to hire chaplains to lead prayer in the legislative chambers. Good. I like that interpretation of the Constitution. The ACLU doesn't like it. They thought it was wrong. They agree with three members of the Court who dissented.

Reid called him bi-partisan, so that means he is a liberal.
