I think if you want it done, tell your parents. If they don't let you then the solution is simple. Just wait til you get 18 or until you go off to college. My parents were pretty strict on me but I got it done when I was 20 and I just called my mom up and said "hey I got my navel pierced." No biggie about it. About the mark that it leaves, I mean if you're pregnant, don't take it out right away, just wait until you kinda have to, and after the baby you can put it back in. If you get it done and you don't want the piercing anymore, the mark will eventually fade away. Oh and by the way, it's not tacky to have it, I don't go around flaunting it or anything, and neither do my friends who have it. It's really a matter of what you like. For the guys who just won't date a girl who has it, then that's their problem, but i'm sure if some girl was shaking some *** at them and she's a hot chick then that guy will more than likely eat his words. As far as i'm concerned, I make the piercing, the piercing doesn't make me.

No. Heaps of my friends had it done when there were about 14-16 and 90% of them have taken it out now at 19. They are left with this ugly hole in there belly button. Also if your pregnant you have to take it out so really you will prob only have it for a few years and then take it out and regret it cause you will have a ugly hole in your belly button. its just a fad you will get over it.

Before you do it, ask yourself why you're doing it behind your parents' back? I know it's your body and you'll have to live with it the rest of your life--they don't. Do you / would you like them making life-changing decisions about themselves without telling you first what they were doing? Think about it, please.
