how would you do a 3d model of this cross section? would you know a website with a picture of it?
y= x +1 and y= x^2 - 1, cross-sections are semi-ellipses of height 2, parallel to x-axis

You are incorrect because you have a parabola cut by a line; to depict this in 3D, I would, personally, use Mathematica. But I suggest you try Dr Math website, I think that there is search engine.
