I watched a thing on discovery channel about people from Peru eating fried guinea pig with teeth and claws attached. It was said they taste of chicken.

I like the category you've put the question under 'Pets' lol. If it does taste of chicken then maybe you could spice things up a little, tandoori guinea pig, guinea pig in black bean sauce or maybe a char grilled guinea pig burger and yes, I too am a carnivore

Why are people hung up on pets......guinea pigs were originally introduced as food...not as pets , they are relatively easy to keep, breed quickly and don't take very long to cook.
I think it's because people don't want to think of "cute" animals as food, where in fact they are quite tasty..
Did you know we are one of the very few countries that doesn't include "creepy crawlies" in our diets, although I must admit ther isn't alot of good eating on a cranefly, and even if you manage to get enough of them they are not particularly tasty.....Honey roasted locusts are absolutely delicious , tastes like nut clusters :D
as for chickens....most people when they say something tastes like chicken are usually refering to the texture of the meat rather than the actual taste, as chicken will take on the flavour of whatever it is cooked with.
BTW if you have ever eaten duck, some restaurants when cooking ducks for a large number of people ofen only cook 1/4 of the ducks required and substitute the rest for rabbit, as the meat is similar and takes on the flavour when cooked together with duck, they save a bundle as rabbit is cheap.

Yes, they do. When I was in Brazil I ate guinea pig and it really does taste like chicken, only with a different texture.

apparently they do, I know that frogs legs taste of chicken, but whenever I think too much about what im eating the taste changes a little.
In fact frogs legs taste of frogs legs and Guinea pigs taste of...

dont know but but i went kfc yesterday i and a rat head shaped portion of chicken perhaps its was guinea pig. have to change there name to kfgp.

everything tastes of Chicken as its the cheapest food and all we normally eat in the UK, BMW tastes of chicken, as does BMW. and Polo, UK is screwed up.... its a chicken feeder market, what the heck is going on here? try eating my little pony!
