I have 3 HP printers, two are printer/scanner/copier and one is a photosmart. the quality depends on what you are printing. For pictures, obviously the photosmart is the best quality but the other two do the job. For anything else they all do a fine job.

As for ink consumption, its difficult to gauge printer to printer. You can change the settings on your computer for printing quality which affects ink consuption- the higher the quality the more ink it uses.

One brand I would not recommend is Epson- I have had two of their printers and had more problems then what they were worth(incidentally they were both free when i bought something else)

Choose one of Hewlett Packard's Ink Jet Photosmart printers. The comparisons are close amongst manufacturers when costs are measured in fractions of a penny.

The user is the economic factor here. Training and knowledge will help with costs and smart usage will factor in the savings.

Can't go wrong with a HP printer, IMHO.

maximum printer cartridges could be injected with extra value-effective ink. I do it with mine. you need to purchase ink packs, and a syringe type gadget, and actually inject new ink into the cartridges. that way, you may choose how high priced ot cheep the ink is, on an identical time as nevertheless useing a compatible cartage. and you do no longer pay for the cartridges each time the two.
