Smart and easy to take care of do not apply to puppies.
Puppys take time and lots of care and most are messy and will require training time.
What you want is a dog with out any work. That does not happen.
Wait until you are ready to accept the responsibility of a dog then get one.
Know that they are alot of work and they make messes and they shed and they are not cheap.

So you want perfection for cheap? Not going to happen. You need to research dogs, especially puppies in general, so that you know what is required in their care. It's more intensive than you think!
Once you've really gotten in touch with the reality that is puppy care, THEN start researching breeds that might fit your needs. For one thing, the smaller breeds have unique needs that aren't always easy. Weight change, hypoglycemia, delicate bones, etc... The only savings you'll get are a smaller crate and less (volume, not quality) of food for a small dog.

No puppy is easy to take care of. Once you make time for a puppy, check shelters.

try a pug they are small and stay small the range from 20-30lbs they come in three colors black,tan, and aprote. you have to take care of there skin it gets dry and tends to flake, you have to clean there rolls on there face, and watch out for there eyes they are senitive and can easily pop out if hit on a corner hardly happens though. and they do fart alot and snore LOL but they give lots of kisses and loves other dogs and people i have never ever seen a mean pug

You should get a Vizsla (vish-la). They are short haired and never really stink. they are very good with children. they are really easy to train. They can be real cute at times.
If you would like to see pictures google in Vizsla....they are really cute!!!!!!

anything else will be messy, etc. you are not a good type of person to have a real dog. i'm not being mean, so please don't take it that way, but dogs are not perfectly well behaved animals. even a fish needs it's bowl cleaned and it's water changed.
