This quote is credited to optimists, of course. Winston Churchill is saying how pessimists refuse to see the brighter side in a situation and praises optimists for being able to conquer difficult situations because pessimists just gives up.

Winston Churchill said that. (http://en.thinkexist.com/quotation/a_pessimist_sees_the_difficulty_in_every/15269.html)
My fiance says I am a pessimist. However, I am a realist in all truth. I don't think things will never get better, as a pessimist does. I don't think things will DEFINITELY get better, as an optimist does. I hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

The key is to moderate both ways of thinking. That would be a realists way of thinking. But to properly do so you have to investigate properly both the positive and negative sides of each issue. Pro's and con's and not get emotionally involved in the process.

Actually both, I use logic, and see things for what they are. People are naturally bad, but can be good. If they have a reason to be.
