Is it normal to bleed after the pap test?
It was my first time ,everyone said it might be uncomfortable but it was 1. uncomfortable and 2.painful !
and I had some bleeding after the test.
My doctor had some difficulty finding the cervix and he had to do it twice.
Is this all normal?

Well it is uncomfortable even at 46
and yes to can spot after
They have to check you out completely pushing down on your stomach as their finger is inside of you feeling for abnormal cyst check your ovaries and yes your cervix

Just remember NEVER let your Dr. examine you without a nurse in the room with him/her

remember also this was your first time and you were scared and nervous.....I still get nervous at 46

some bleeding is normal especially if your dr. did the Thin Prep Pap which is done with a small brush instead of a scopette to scrape the epithelial cells. It will stop after a few hours.

It's uncomfortable especially when you're nervous.

Owch. Yeah, it's definitely not a pleasant experience.. It's pretty usual to bleed after the first pap test, but if you keep bleeing for more than 24 hours, consult a physician.

yeah before my first pap test my gyno said i might bleed a little afterwards so yeah thats perfectly normal. no need to worry. hope this helps! :D

Yes. Unpleasant but it happens. As long as it is just a little spotty bleeding and not a lot of bright blood.
