Be friends and like whoever you wish. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If your friend cannot accept...then that shows you what kind of friend you have.

You can have many different friends with many different beliefs, Just when your with these friends that don't approve just don't bring it up or if they do then change the subject. I mean honestly how much can the subject come up if none of you are and they are so against it?? Just wondering, i mean there has to be a reason that it keeps coming up. So either they are really afraid of gay people or afraid that someone might find out they have some gay curiosity?? Just a thought really, but honestly just don't bring it up.

The Bible (OLD TESTAMENT) says that if man lies with man, it is a sin.

You can be a gay Christian. Many sects will disallow you from being a member, though. There was even a newspaper article about the Bishops of the Catholic Church wanting to disallow homosexuals (and unwed mothers) from receiving communion.

The Bible also says "Love thy neighbor as thyself" and "Judge not lest ye be judged." But, apparently, those don't count when those horrible gay people are involved! (Ugh.)

I'm sorry, but your friends are NOT good friends. They are not worth being around if they are so rude to you for being an accepting person. You should simply make new friends if they refuse to shut up after you tell them to.

You and your friends can have different opinions as long as you still respect each other. I think your friends are misinterpreting the Bible, though. The definition of sodomy used to be sex that wasn't done to make children. Christianity used to be a struggling religion that needed more followers, so it encouraged people to have as many kids as possible. Having sex only for fun was sodomy, and gays or anyone who had sex for fun was a sinner. Nowadays this no longer applies, and people are even encouraged to have sex for reasons other than baby-making (a healthy marriage needs a sex life, but not 12 kids!) The modern-day definition of sodomy applies to bestiality and forms of sex that are truly harmful, not sex that's merely non-reproductive. Despite this change in defitinition, gays are still persecuted by people who only read one line in the bible but don't analyze the context. If the old definition of sodomy was applied in modern times, condoms and oral sex are both crimes against God.

The Bible says that homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Jesus says that a man shall leave his mother and father and join to his wife and they shall become one flesh. God intends a man to be with a woman for his entire life.

I think it is awesome you are concerned about your gay friends and gay uncle. God loves them very much. He loves them so much that He became a man and died a horrific death so that we could live eternally. Jesus did not pay this price so that we could stay in our sins but to allow us to enter into a Holy relationship with God the Father. God is Holy, and calls his children to holiness. Gay sex is not holy in God's eyes but is an abomination and this lifestyle will destroy homosexuals.

Please show your friends this awesome love. The gospel truth. We all deserve death, but God grants us eternal life with Him forever. This is through the cross and only through the cross. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." John 14:6. You and your friends must repent of your sins against God and trust Jesus to save you. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, Jesus will do this for all of you.

I love it when people use that trite line about Adam & Steve....when the truth is, God created BOTH of them (individually, but they happened to have met at some garden party), but I digress.
Here's my opinion, if these homophobes are your friends, then they should respect you and your decision to associate with gays.
If they find that hard to do, then if I were you I would find new friends.

First of all, you need to study the passages yourself and pray that God reveal His truth to you and not rely on others to translate scripture for you.
My opinion on the matter is this....(and just that, an opinion)
The Bible is clear that homosexuality is not right (and that is my personal take on the Bible, others will disagree)
Secondly, the Bible is ALSO clear that we are to love everyone and treat them equally. To ~not~ be friends with someone because they are gay is not a very good reflection of God's love toward EVERY man...not just every straight man.

here is my opinion, like who you like, seriously. just because your friends dont like gay people, and you do..it doesnt mean that you have to bring your gay crowd around your gay haters..its ok to have a "double life"..make time for all of your friends. dont not talk to your gay friend because your other friends dont like it, talking to gay people will not make you gay, which is probablly what your straight friends think, gay haters tend to be more closed minded and make decisions based on what they believe, " gay by association" is a problem that alot of people have, by hanging out with groups or a single person that is gay. gay is not a disease, a virus there for it is not contageous.....good for you for standing by your friend kiddo..looks like you're the better person

you can have any friends you want, its the others that dont have those friends so don't worry about it. You mentioned the bible, I feel this way, It says that if you ask god for forgiveness, that he is willing to forgive you so if a gay person asks for gods forgiveness before he dies on his deathbed He will go to heaven. so you can have gay friends, you can have black friends, you can have female friends, you can have foreign friends, you can have dogs as friends, its really no one elses business who you have as friends.

Who are we to judge? People are people and we will answer to our maker what ever we believe them to be. Turn everyone inside out we ALL look the same. My son is gay the people who do not like him are afraid of him. Like who you like if your friends don't like it they are probably not very good friends at all. Good luck.
