Codecs don't get added to WMP directly. Codecs are like drivers, they need to be installed. Codecs typically have their own installation program, such as Divx has a setup program. Once you have the codec installed, WMP will automatically use the codec, if the movie file requests for it.

try, ACE Mega CoDecS pack 6.03,
just install all the codecs you like from the list, gen: avi,mpeg.asf, divx etc, & wmp will pick up the codec for whichever file you are trying to play
