So I just lost my Blackberry 7200g. After yelling and cursing I figured I might as well look at it as an opportunity to upgrade. I need to know which phone to buy.

1. I NEED access to email
2. I love the push technology Blackberry had so that i got my emails on time when I was away from the office
3. I don't really care about cameras and video and all that other crap on my business phone.
4. I would prefer to have one with Windows applications
5. The one thing i didn't like about blackberry was buying all those add-ons to read word documents etc.
6. High speed internet would be a plus
7. Access to the internet, and the ability to surf the net with javascript access etc.
8. Lastly, being able to store files on the phone would also be a plus.

Please let me know what you think. I'd like to just dive in a buy a phone before i go back into depression of losing a $400 phone.

Get the cingular 8525. It is the best pda phone on the market right now. It has everything high speed internet plus wifi. Wifi is one of teh best thigns about it, you can use your own internet and do not have to pay for it. Also it has a slide out qwerty keyboard and camera. BEst of all it is a iwndows pocket pc edition phone, so it enabels to do almost anything, music, video, internet, picture, email, calander, games, ability to edit documents, sync up to a pc. I will be gettign one of these soon. Trust me, you cant go wrong with this one. It looks awsome, adn its not as big as you think. The sliding mechanism is made very well, and the phone feels good in the hand. It has a great screen, I believe one of the biggest if not the biggest of any phone out there. The only phone better than that is the htc tytn. WHich is actually just the original version of the 8528 before it was remade for cingular. You can buy the htc tytn unlocked and use it for cingular or tmobile. Main difference between 8525 and Tytn is that the Tytn has two cameras, on eon the back and one on the front for video conferencing. I hope you make the right chouce and get one of these two phones.

Switch to Sprint and pay $15 for EV-DO high speed. Faster and cheaper than Cingular ($40)and cheaper than Verizon ($45). You can also watch TV (NFL) with it for that same low price of $15. You want/need to pick up the Palm 700p. It has a Palm based operating system that is superior to Windows. If you buy a 700w Microsoft doesn't support Sprint TV. I have used both operating systems and I prefer Palm without question. Windows is clunky and you have to do 2 or 3 things to do what a Palm will do with one touch. The 700p truly rocks with one handed usage. Uses a 2 gig smart media card, although Sprint claims it will only handle 1 gig. Cnet review and I am telling you 2 gig works. Pick 2 gig up anywhere cheap. WiFi is wonderful but only if you are in a hot spot. Since you probably don't live at Starbucks or Borders you are going to have to PAY for an internet connection. Once you do that you don't need WiFi. Having WiFi is not a dealbreaker for me once you see how fast EVDO works. Besides, if you have to pay for internet WiFi is useless. Those that keep thinking WiFi hung the Moon probably aren't paying for an mobile internet connection. When they are on the road or in the woods all they have is a phone with a nice calander.
