a condolence card?
For a lot of people I know of that have gotten married, I knew before they got married that it wouldn't work and most of them didn't.
I know that some people DO love each other and that is great but some people I know get married because they like the attention or having a 'wedding'.
Just curious on what other people think

I am not asking this because I think all marriages are stupid and will fail... Just kinda wondering what people's opinions were on it.
And to the one who called me a name.... TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE.

Yah..If they are having a huge, ridiculous wedding..let them have there moment..I see it as only a show where they want to feel special. Especially the brides..the grooms are just looking for the party and what comes that night. Some of the longest marriages recorded were done in a very small, inexpensive way. I go to the weddings for the party's..marriages are for the birds

Yeah, kinda. I don't have a whole lot of faith in marriage, especially given the high divorce rate. I've also known some people who got married and I thought it would never work, and now they are divorced. I figure it's their mistake to make or maybe I should just say it's their decision to make and take the chance of it not working out. It's not up to me to say whether it's wise or not. Other people have seemed really well matched, so I figure it depends on the couple.

A card of condolence would have been perfectly appropriate for my ill-fated marriage which lasted 10 months. Yes, I do indeed think this often. It's so true in many cases.

Just get one. Sign and date it. IF the relationship dont work give it to that person(s).
As far as the question no I wouldn't get a condolence card. I'm happily married.

I have mixed feeling personally about marriage.
I want to be married, but I do not want to have someone around 24x7.
Ever thing I have ever wanted in life has come to me except for an ideal partner. I am beginning to think that the reason is that I do not want anyone. I have one failed marriage and wanted very much to re-marry and now I think probably not.
Being alone sucks but being with someone sucks too from my experience.

You really shouldn't rain on anyone's parade.... Burt I know the feeling. One time I went to the grocery store and asked the cashier "You don't have any anniversary cards for inlaws who hate each other"?

You are right, people used to take marriage more seriously before, hence the high divorce rate.

Yes, I do!
The son of a friend of mine announced to me he is engaged...he's just graduated from high school, doesn't have a job, and is so happy to be getting married. He introduced his fiance to me - it was all I could do to smile and not show how horrified I was!

oohhhhh huney, please, just be happy for the person in question. Time shows all lies, secrets and truths. I hope love escapes no one, for it evades everyone. Btter yet, do we just evade commitment? Believe me, before a divorce, everything should be done to make it better. Because, everyone needs love, and A love.
