i contacted my previous employer who refuses to give me a letter stating i no longer work with them. they are under new management and i have not worked there since feb 2005. when i talk to a manager there she was nasty and hung up on me. i need that letter a.s.a.p. is there any way i can make them give me the letter? or what should i do? it was mcdonald's by the way.

Contact the Division of Unemployment Security. I trust that you collected unemployment insurance, wages. That is sufficient proof for your Land Lord.

I don't understand why your landlord would care if you are unemployed. Your rent has to be paid anyway. Go to the unemployment office. They can help you with your former employer, as well as help you find another job.

firstly are you in receipt of job seekers allowance, if so then the unemployment office can provide you with a letter showing your benefit witch you can pass onto your landlord.

Provide the phone number and contact info of your old company and give it to the landlord. Tell them they will not cooperate with you.

he probably has figured it out already if you sit around the house all day why not use your energy to find another better job instead ?

um.. didn't you file for unemployment? unemployment checks are proof of that you dont have a job.

and if you didn't, why haven't you?
