Ipod nano downloading?

I have 2 questions. First of all, are songs on CD's mp3 songs, so that if i take songs from a CD i can download them onto my nano? Second question-if i plug in my nano to the computer, will itunes automatically put the songs on my ipod, or do i have to click on some things before it puts the songs on the ipod?

No Cd's are not mp3 songs, but when you download them into itunes they are stored in the mp3 format so that the ipods can play them. Unless you have changed the settings in itunes it should update your ipod automatically when you plug it in.
