yes i had it done. the shot did not hurt too bad and yes for awhile the pain in my elbow was gone . tennis elbow commonly occurs from over use. after the shot i resumed my usual work activity and took no extra care of my elbow. as the shot wore off the pain was so bad i could not raise my arm to grasp the steering wheel in my car. if you go ahead and get the shot , i recommend you take care of your elbow find some good stretches and exercises ask your Dr. how to take care of it and follow his advise . God bless. ( I feel your pain ! )

I had a cortisone shot 5 weeks ago, my elbow felt fine for 3 weeks but then my elbow pain came roaring back worse than before the injection. I have been using this tennis elbow secrets program now for 5 days and my elbow feels much better. I can really feel my arm getting stronger as each day passes.

Cure Tennis Elbow?

Had it about 20 years ago-it hurt like hell for 2 days around the elbow but it was well worth the pain. Tennis elbow gone completely in about a week's time and was able to play tennis again. However, I helped myself also by changing my backhand stroke which was faulty before and was causing my tennis elbow. No recurrence up to this time and I still play tennis.

Ive had one and the pain is horrendous. Its worth it though as you rest your arm for 24hrs and its like new again. I work in M&S so i am constantly moving stock or am on a till as cover at busy times so im constantly using my elbow. Ive had 2 injections in 3 and a half yrs but i go to physio now as the steroids in the injections can't be used too often. Good luck.

I had Lateral Epicondylitis (I don't play tennis, lol) a couple of years ago and my doctor offered me the same. After hearing various stories about the injections, I declined the offer. I used painkillers on and off for the next three months and it just got better on it's own. I think resting my arm whenever I could, helped an awful lot.

Nearly, but I was advised by my friend to take tablets for it instead. The injection is supposed to be sheer agony. The tablets take a little longer to work, but 2O years have gone by since I took them and touch wood I've never had a re-occurance.Good luck, I remember how painful it was.

Not the elbow, but the rotator cuff in my shoulder. The needle didn't hurt 1/2 as much as the tear.

my husband has had one for tennis elbow. in canada they use cortizone, in the states apparently they use a water soluable one. it's temporary, and the pain will return. he has to rest it and take time off work and wrap it at night to keep from moving it in his sleep.

Not my elbow, but my knees and shoulders, several times.

The truth is: the doctor is even more terrified than you are!

Relax, it will be okay, and will do you much good!
