I like your thinking. Practically speaking, it just makes it easier to identify people by colors than to go into their cultural heritage. For example, I've been called white all my life, but what if I demanded, as many "culturally sensitive" people do, that I be addressed by whatever the latest fad name they like for their race or culture. Well, you'd have to include my Scottish history, without forgetting my Cajun history, and then you'd have to consider my "hillbilly" heritage without forgetting my up-to-date, very urban upbringing, and never forgetting my "yuppie", elitist upbringing as well. And now I've become "rednecked". And never forget that I'm of pure white European heritage. Now, wouldn't it just be easier to call me white, than to have to dream up some "culturally sensitive" nomenclature for my "true" personna. And remember, the rest of the world thinks we all look alike anyways, so . . .. Those "sensitive" people need to, what's the phrase, "get a life", and as long as they maintain their pseudo-sensitivity, they're not worth knowing or getting to know anyway, until they grow up / mature, so, enjoy life, and let those other people suffer in their own egotistical manias. God Bless you.

That is just how it is put. When you fill out forms they ask Black, White, Hispanic a few others and then give you the option OTHER and that is what I check OTHER not that I am not proud of what I am but because over the years there is such a mix of everything I am more than one race and proud of all of them

That is a new twist !! The true Black race from way back, was not a mixture. Same goes for the Asian people ,. They were not a mix, way back hundreds of years ago. In Norway, from way back into the days of pagan, there were no mixed in with the Whites. My Ancestors have been traced back to the 1300 year and there are no mixture in our White Norwegian culture. So I really would like to withdraw from telling you this, But I thinnk you are mistaken. Sooooo Sad and Tooo Bad.

I actually have no idea why people get offended.
It's funny though because my boss is one of those people, and she's white. Whenever she describes someone black, she can never say, "He's tall, with a beard, and black." It's always, "He's tall, with a beard, and he's, ya know..." And she hates when other people use white and black to describe other people too.
I guess some people are really hyper-sensitive, or they think it's not politically correct to say white people or black people.
That's just what i think though, because i honestly have no clue.

You ever heard of the song "Black is black, I want my baby back. White is white..." People put way too much emphasis in colors and the reason being is that they want to put every one in a box that way they know how to treat that person. When people ask me what color I am, I tell them the "human color" and laugh it off.

Because to some people everything is either black or white. Everyone is so hypersensitive to the whole "political correctness" these days.

i actually don't like to use terms like that to describe a person. u could use words like african america, haitian, caucasian. some ppl just get offended when colors get involved. some ppl call me mexican but i'm not, i'm dominican, it would be easier if ppl just called me hispanic. it would be offensive to me if someone started calling me "tan" because that was the color of my skin.
