Most erasers are just made of vulcanized rubber. In England, in fact, they are usually called 'rubbers' instead of erasers. They're only pink because that's what people are used to... these days they can be made just about any colour at all.

Before rubber erasers, they used to use white bread to erase pencil marks. Seriously. Check links below if you don't believe me. And there's certainly no pig urine in most white bread, unless you put it there yourself.

No they are the same as regular erasers and are made from latex rubber only they have pumice added to create more friction to erase ink. The pink kind are the exact same with a different colour and no pumice
