I think father goose was an excellent movie- very funny, full of superb actors. But to be honest I haven't seen many other films with Cary Grant in them, but thanks for reminding me, cause I've been meaning to rent some.

Oh, boy, another tough choice!
Arsenic and Old Lace ties with Notorious, ties with North by Northwest....
...But what about Cary Grant as an angel, co-starring with David Niven and Loretta Young in The Bishop's Wife? --Great performance, great Christmas movie too!

I agree with North by Northwest above. Cary Grant was Cary Grant in it and Hitchcock was Hitchcock directing him. Dynamite combination.

I'd go with "Arsenic and Old Lace". It is IMHO the best dark comedy ever and Cary Grant carried it delightfully.

One of his early films is Arsenic and Old Lace. It's so comical it's about him introducing his fiance to his old maiden aunties who brought him up: they have live in lodgers who mysteriously disappear, a demented cousin who thinks he's on his way to Panama, a criminally insane brother who with his sidekick a plastic surgeon escape from jail who by some coincidence rearranged his face to resemble Frankenstein (after seeing the film) after their escape and return to the old aunties house to wreak revenge for past imagined misdemeanours against him when he was younger.

i LOVE Cary grant!

my favorite, i think, is arsenic and old lace- he is brilliant! that, or north by northwest- Cary Grant + Alfred Hitchcock = genius. all of their collaborations are fantastic.

Arsenic & old lace, probably his best role (in my eyes anyway) he not only was smouldering in the role, but he showed his flair for comic timing and delivered some of the best dialogue in the film, he was of course supported by the best co-stars and the best sets in hollywood.
