it seems that it doesnt catch any spelling errors i amek anymore. I dont know why... I'll spell a word wrong on purpose and type random letters and it wont underline it in red or say anything about it... I will hit spell check and it will say everything is typed right but there are words that are clearly typed incorrectly. Does anyone know why? for my report i am typing i needed the spell check but that didn't help and i ended up making mistakes and my report looked bad. Please help me! what is wrong with it?

You don't say which version of Word you have. Check that your settings haven't been changed.
(I'm using Word 2003, but I suspect earlier versions still lead to the same point.)
Click on Tools/Options/Spelling and Grammar
and tick or untick the options. Also look at the 'Settings...' and change accordingly and finally, click on 'Custom Dictionaries' to make sure you've enabled a dictionary of some kind or another.

Save your report, then turn off the computer. Now turn it back on, and try spell check again. this should fix it... If not goto add/remove, click remove, then repair.
