Ok, I've know this woman for years and everyone says she like me because she treats me differently, we are always smiling/looking at each other and we text a LOT etc. I haven't particularly noticed and don't think it's that obvious.
I have started to really like her, and sometimes we mildly flirt in texts but sometimes she doesnt reply to me at all. I want to ask her out but not sure, she teaches at my old college which i have left but we are still good friends. Would that complicate things? Is it allowed now I've left? How could I ask her out without her thinking it was just a friend thing?
I know you'll all say be blunt but it's a tricky situation, I don't want to lose her as a friend so don't want to bluntly say "will you go on a date with me?".
I was thinking of texting her and asking her to go to a show with me but I just fear she won'y reply and it will be akward when i next see her and never mentioned.
Please help, I need advise. Thank You.

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

I sounds like she likes you, but it is hard to say. You usually dont txt people a lot unless you are 16 yrs old. I mean if she is texting you a lot its a good sign she likes you more than a friend because she is taking the time to do it. However, I know you don't want to hear this, but you might have to be sort of blunt in asking her out. Think about it, if you are not blunt and then she might not understand that you are asking her out because you like her. I have experience with that! LOL.... and if you are not blunt and she DOES figure you out, than it won't matter how you asked to begin with because in the end she is going to know you like her more than a friend anyways. Just go for it!! You will never know if you don't do it, and trying to hide that you like a friend is a hard thing to do!!! You'll end up torturing yourself if you don't find out. So good luck! :)

First, I am going under the assumption that you know that she's also gay. Pretend that she is a platonic friend. What is the big deal about going to a show with a friend? That will make it easier to ask her out.
Obviously, by not answering, she is viewing the relationship as purely platonic. However, you haven't indicated to her that you feel otherwise. In addition, if she feels similar to you, she can't ust show it because of her position. You reall have to make the move. There are no issues with dating, since she is no longer your prof. Just ask her to a show. Then, when you go, feel the vibe and you'll know if she feels the same.

Yes, be blunt. You will never know unless you ask her.
If she says no and things get wierd, you can work through it in time.
