Appearance does not determine your character and personality. It helps to draw others to who you are but cannot possibly assess whether or not you are a kind, caring individual until someone really gets to know you. Appearance is important because others often treat those who look like 'slobs' AS slobs, whether they are or aren't. It is, unfortunately, not a tolerant world. Dress as you please to command respect, but don't let it shape you. It is a 9 on a job interview, but maybe a 1 in regard to where your spirit lies.

I stopped caring so much, not about my appearance, but what people think about my appearance. I dress how I want (usually casual and comfortable being a working mom of a four month old and housewife). I feel I look good if I and my clothes are clean. And if I am going to work or have time on my days off (which aren't many because I work two jobs) then I put on some make up and fix my hair. When you become a mother and wife, appearance doesn't matter as much I think as how well you take care of your family. But it is still important enough to make you feel good about yourself.

I am not high maintenance, but I do care about my appearance.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I'm an 8. Simply because I believe in that natural beauty and wear very little make-up. No foundation that stuff makes women look like a corpes. I do put a little lipstick and mascara with eye liner. Casual way of dressing, since it is fall here on the east coast where I live I am into the cordoroys and nice blouse or turtle necks and sweaters and boots or flats and I smell like Oil of Olay body wash. (wink) Ok?

I guess a 4 or 5. I like to dress up once in a while and I try to look nice for church and school, but then on weekends where I don't see any one than I don't really shower or brush my hair or anything. I think I look really nice when I'm all dressed up and my hairs all shined, but I don't care abut my appearance enough to put a lot of effort into looking nice every day when it's not necessary.
