No offense to the teen mothers, but why??

why do you want to become mothers so young? I saw this one girl who was 13 and pregnant, i doubt she was telling the truth though, cuz in my psychology class, they said you don't ovulated till 14! Then I see girls in Chicago area pregnant and 16!! What the f?? Where are their parents? Why aren't they thought self control, abstinence, and especially patience?? anyway, I'm ranting but I don't care, people are stupid on here anyway.

Emmaleigh-- it means that we the tax payers pay for their welfare and it means as a whole the country suffers because more than likely that child isn't going to finish high school. No offense. But I see your point, it doesn't effect me directly. :-)

Girls can get pregnant as soon as they start their period. Since they are getting periods earlier that previous decades, the ages can be quite young. I do not believe many of these girls want to have a baby, but rather were not informed about birth control. I believe this lack of education stems from parents not talking to their kids about reproduction prevention and our school system letting them down as well. I wouldn't say these individuals are "stupid," just uninformed...

I cant even begin to tell you how hard my heart is racing right now.
Who are you to judge these women. I am one of them... I was 17 when i had my first child. And i lived in a nice house with both my mother and my father and two other siblings. They raised us well and yes one day i made a choice but it wasn't because i didn't have self control or patience It was something that i wanted to do and yes i paid the ultamite price for that choice.
I am now 26 almost 27 and i just had another baby and i am telling you that i am not a diffrent mother i am not better or worse i treat and will raise her the same way i did my daughter when i was 17.
And another thing not all teen mothers are on welfare I am not and I will bet that i make more money than you and your husband put together working only 30 hours a week and i have made a good living scence i was 20. Did you ever stop to think that there are adults who are on welfare.. I bet you are on welfare and are hating your self for it so you needed to come and pick on other people to make yourself feel better.
You are right to have your own opinion but you should know what the **** you are talking about before going somewhere public and feeling like you have the right to vent...
And then your heading "NO OFFENSE" BULL ****...
Why don't you go out in your town and help these girls better there lives instead of judging them. Education is the key so why don't you stop running your mouth here and go run it to people that you maybe able to help...

Ovulation doesn't follow a set pattern with age -- some girls start at 14, some girls start as early as 11 years old. Once that happens, it is definitely *possible* for a girl to become pregnant, no matter how young.

Some girls feel that pregnancy will force their boyfriends to love them and stay, afraid of being alone, though they fail to realize all the problems it will cause. Some just want something to care for. Many are pregnant due to rape. Most young mothers, however, are just careless when it comes to birth control -- After all, the way we teens see it, unwanted pregnancy is a thing that happens to *other* people, like crime and death.

Also, in some cultures (and not long ago in America and Europe as well) marrying and having children in your teens is a totally normal thing.

Girls ovulate at different ages. I knew a girl who started her period at the age of 9. You can't have a period without ovulation!! Girls that usually get pregnant in their teens usually do it because of the loss of certain attention from their parents. Lack of fatherly love. There are many factors that can cause this. But the point is, it's here, and not going anywhere. Our generation needs to make sure we're better parents. Maybe we can put a stopt to it. Sometimes it happens because the parents have to work (This is impossible to avoid sometimes). They can't provide the correct supervision, but it's just an ongoing problem. We have to accept it.

Ok as an "intelligent girl" who got pregnant (since apparently we don't) sometimes BC and condoms fail. Sometimes the powers that be speed up the timeline you had for yourself. And I haven't met a single other teen mom (there are quite a few in my area) who wanted to get pregnant so young. We love our children and wouldn't change a thing because then we wouldn't have them but all of us had a different plan for our lives which included having children LATER in our lives. And another teen mom myth debunk...in my area we have a high number of teen moms (I know 5 close friends who had children in highschool or just out of it) and we were also voted one of the best places to live in the entire US. We live in a nice town, with good neighborhoods, mediocre schools, and tons of IT jobs. We still get pregnant just like the girls living in the ghettos of the big cities. If you have a problem with teen parents just keep your mouth shut and your assumptions to yourself.

Some of those Teen Mother could have been molested or raped. You never know there story until you ask. Depends on when they all so mature and start there periods too. Some of us start at a early age . A lot of female teens are taking more care and carrying Condoms and BC. BirthControl is free at the health Dept and Condoms too.If both Parents work they will never know where and what there teens are into . That is why we need more STAY -AT - HOME PARENTS.

Acctually its is possible younger than 13, and to set right your ovulation point, a female starts ovulating as soon as her menstral cycle starts - that in some cases can be as young as 8......it depends on culture, traditions, family history, lifestyle education, and many other factors, but the main cause for one to become pregnant so young in the western society is lack of education, and social status.....ive seen it many times in my position as a nurse, it is tragic, but can only be dealt with, by educating those at risk, and hoping they are smart enough to do the right thing......

Okay. Well half the time, Kids dont want to have a child, But teens and kids get pure pressure into haveing sexual innercouse and AN dthen later have a child. Most teens or Kids mothers will not let there child have an abortion because its against most peoples belifes

I agree. I go to highschool, and it seems that every month there's some other chick that got herself knocked up. And don't get me wrong, I understand that getting pregnant is a two person thing, but you never see the intelligent girls having babies at 15-16.

And the fact that they actually HAVE the babies is what really get's to me. They have their entire lives ahead of them. Their giving up their youth fo something that they could have later on in life.

I think it's a very sad thing to see a young girl who is pregnant. You didn't mention the boys involved, it's not fair to judge these girls without laying some of the blame on the boys.
