I am raising my kids to be good people. That is my immediate purpose. My secondary purpose is to keep my relationship with my husband true and complete. Aside from my family and their happiness, I read an obituary a few years ago for a 94 year old woman. Her obit was only a couple of paragraphs long. Perhaps that's all the family could pay, but all it said was where she was born, who she had married, how many kids she had, and when she had been widowed. If I make it to 94, I want my obituary to say I was respected by my peers, I made people laugh, I was truly loved by my family that I adored, and I never stopped learning! Our lives should be more than just deadlines and dates.

All of it. Everything. My reason to live is that I have not even skimmed the surface of humanity and the world and I want to see everything there is to see and feel every feeling and just be the happiest I can be. Happiness drives me, there are so many thing that make me happy, but I know there are a lot more and the more I find the happier I can be. Why go through life being unhappy? Yes I always live in the moment. Today I went to a bat mitzvah and I was thinking about nothing else besides the food and dancing. It was so much fun and I was "living in the moment."
So many peopel don't appreaciate the miracle of life and it's sad to see them waste their life away.

What are the first things a baby does the moment she is born?We have come to understand or the doctor will have the explanations why the baby does what she does. She will stop crying the moment she is comfortably in the warmth of the mother's arms and feeding from the mother's breasts which are stocked with all the milk the baby can take. Two things become very clear here, 1. We need comfort - an act of Love. 2. Then we need to eat - there is plenty of milk awaiting the baby. With the two subjects, I can answer your question on my personal terms. They are - 1. I must seek and love people as a precondition for my survival,2. With that, I am primed to harvest my needs from life's ever flowing providences. All I need is love for myself, for people, for life to drive me on. Only that love can make my life a complete and meaningful journey. When I am a baby and unable to take care of myself, the people who loved me carried me through. This will repeat when I am too old to fend for myself - the people who love me, because I have loved them , will carry me through. Only love can make a complete, wholesome and meaningful journey of one's life. Love is still the prerequisite even if I live for just the moment or all the moments.

I have no purpose. My life is half over. I work to pay my bills. That seems to be my only purpose. Soon my purpose will be to take care of my aging parents. I had potential. I do have a reason to live though. That question is easy. Death is the only other alternative. So I stay alive. I entertain myself as much as possible. This serves no purpose but to break up the boredom of daily life. I wish you better luck on your journey.

There's only one purpose in life....to decrease pain and increase pleasure....all else will be lost to oblivion.
Greatness may last a thousand years for a few and eternally for none. On the scale of earthly time, individual lives are but mere blinks of an eye. We're born, we live, we die and then you're not heard from ever again. There might be a tombstone or family tree made with your name on it, but eventually the tombstone weathers from age and who knows what media your family tree will be used. All the memories and accomplishments will be totally forgotten, unless you're a Hitler or Alexander the Great type person.
In a thousand years, your bones will be dust and no other trace of your existence will be seen, unless, of course you become fossilized for some reason, but even then, after thousands of years more, that will be disintegrated into dust. We influence the lives of our children and others, but they too will eventually die. So what's the point of living?
In astronomical terms, the Earth will eventually succumb to the supernova of our Sun, it's an astonomically certainty the earth will be burned to a crisp.
So does death render our lives meaningless. If we were immortal, that would be the ultimate in boredom, repetition, day after day, of doing the same thing for thousands of years (hundreds may be OK, but nothing beyond that)....but i digress, back to your question.
It all boils down to how creative we can be in the short period of time we have on this earth....Our activities need to be worthwhile for their own sake, not because they fulfill some supernatural transcendental purpose....TO DECREASE PAIN AND INCREASE PLEASURE....GO FOR IT

well there are many purpose of living but manly it is to continue and build upon the technologys of many generations before making it better> and many religions have a part in purpose of your life. most is to save the people like christianity> the purpose is to save people and go to the world to repent and tell about the 2nd comming> it will be harder to find the purpose of life if you do not belive in a God or gods. and living for the moment is good but you should think of the long run also heres a question-
why do people celibrate thier birthday its basicaly one year closer to thier death? this question also has a part of purposes because your life is the limit unless u believe in a all powerful being(s)

I have determined that my purpose in life is to always be here for my children and to make my ex's life a living hell. I think I'm doing a pretty good job of both! lol
