Okay, we are not all americans here, so we don't know what type of coins is there.
anyway, let's supose u have 2 type of coins,
first type worth x dollars, and the other y dollars, (ex: x=0.5 dollars and y = 0.2 dollars)
and the number of coins needed is a for the first type of coins and b for the second, our equation will be,
a*x+b*y=S (1)
where S=1.8 dollars in your question, and u put x, and y in their values.
and the other equation is
a+b=22; (2)
this is a system of 2 equations for 2 unknow, u should be able to solve it !

Well, if you went to McDonalds and ordered a shake, and the cashier said, "that will be a buck eighty", what would you give the cashier? This isn't just math, it's life.

You may be "blond and beautiful" but you should not be shouting it on Yahoo. Boasting is vulgar.
