I do not think so. At least for the Senate. I'm from Maryland, and Michael Steele (R-Lieutenant Gov.) was running for Sarbane's seat. He lost, but in the race the pundits were saying he was going to be the only black republican in the Senate? I think that's what they said. He lost, though, so it doesn't really matter.
