I mean , like keep him entertained. I am not sure of what a one year old (all the things) can play with, or not.

i have a 2yr old and at the moment she is watching toy story it always works when you need a break i chuck on a cartoon and she will sit there quietly while i do house work or just for some time out. always works for me hope i could help. oh ok maby some paper and crayons,or pencils (not texters they always seen to get it all over them selves) if you have them. but make shore you keep your eye on them or they will probably draw all over the walls. watch them with just about anything they play with because you don't want them to choke on anything

Leapfrog tables mine loved those. Balls. Blues clues. Bright toys that make a lot of noise. Also try to include him in your chores my little boy loves load and unload the dishwasher ( watch out for the knives) He also likes to help with laundry by handing mommy the hangers and he even picks up his own toys.

Boy babies like to investigate and see how things work, they have plastic (safe) toys, that can be taken apart and then reassembled.
