Hello, my best friend is currently about 3 months pregnant, she has gone to doc appts and follow ups, and just got over a kidney infection. She had light bleeding before, due to the infection and was treated for this. Today she said when she wiped after urinating she noticed there was darker blood, and it was a little more then usual, she had sex last night and there was no blood. She is planning on contacting for medical advice but just until she does I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what this could be. She said that the bleeding isnt constant, only when she wipes, and it isnt coming out of her in any way. Its now stopped. Thanks for any help!

Don't be to alarmed Brown blood is not a bad as you think red blood is what you need to watch for. If you are having sex and you are pregnant the male sperm can cause this there is something in the sperm that causes this. Just take it easy and relax. It is very important that you contact you Doctor at any change in your body or any discharge you may have. But I'm sure you will be OK. God be with you both.

If she recently had sex its probably that her cervix was irritated after intercourse. This is common with pregnancy as the cervix gets lower as the uterus grows, and its more easily reached by the penis.

Controlling penetration can prevent this.

Spotting is okay, full on bleeding is not.

I imagine she's fine. She should definitely tell her doctor that she had sex the night or day before, this does make a difference as to the cause of the blood.

if the kidney infection cleared up she should'nt have blood coming out anymore, you mentioned she had sex last night.
Sometimes when a person is exposed to an std in the past, they can have tiny drops of blood go into the toilet paper after they have had sex, even when it's been a few hours later.

i've got heard of folk having that early on. Do you have any cramping and back soreness too? often if the blood is vibrant purple and there is plenty, with cramping and back soreness it's always not a brilliant sign. even though if, recognizing may well be commonly used. it remains a stable theory to get it appeared at. Your superb wager till you get in touch which include your checklist is (in case you desperate to stay in college) attempt to not stress and relax the superb you could :)

I would be calling the doctor. She could be put on bedrest till she stops bleeding. Hopefully it's not a sign of a miscarriage.

She should let her doctor know but if it has stopped already it probably was caused by the sex or just normal pregnancy things. Always call your doctor or nurse if you have any questions thats what you pay them for.

She could be having pregnancy spotting, or maybe a bladder infection. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to call an advice nurse.

My dr. told me to report ANY type of bleeding to them. I would check with them just to make sure. I'm sure that having intercourse had something to do with the bleeding... but she'd rather be safe than sorry!!

Good Luck and God Bless

She should watch it and if there is more than just alittle...or small clots or anything, she is probably having a misscarige. But if its just alittle...still go to the Doc...but she should be ok (Hope everything goes well for her)
