My mother used to tell me that the best way was to pull off its wings. That way the shock of it all would wake it up., rather like smelling salts do to a human.

I did try once with the aid of a drinking straw, but unfortuantly blew too hard and it exploded before my eyes. God i loved that moth

Take a watch battery, attach a copper wire (A) to the top with solder. Turn the battery over, attach a second copper wire (B)with solder to the bottom. Rub the wire tips together, this will help to generate a charge. Place A on the top of the thorax of the moth, and B on the lower thorax. This should produce a slight shudder in the moth, repeat if he does not gasp for a breath within 2 to 3 seconds. If you see the chest rise and fall congrats...you have done it, if not repeat.

If it is actually dead, there is nothing you can do. Sometimes an insect may appear dead because it is really cold. You can gently take it into your hands and breathe warm air onto it for a minute. If this does nothing, it is probably dead. Most moths die after they mate or lay eggs, so don't feel bad. It's just the way things are, and he/she probably lived a full life.

Pulling off its wings may kill it or make it wish it were dead.

bring a moth back to life?

what ever, but I would say if you pulled its wings of it would have no way to live so why bring it back

I guess you would hold it by the wings and them dip its legs in cold water, I just flicked a moth and did that so it should work ( he looked pretty out to me).

I don't think pulling off it's wings would be any good, unless you used them to fan the poor thing with. I would possibly try the smelling salts first, see what reaction you get. On the other hand if someone pulled something of yours off, would it resuscitate you ? ? ?

Use a very very small battery to shock him and then get another maoth to give mouth-to-moth and regular chest compressions.

switch on the light?
no?....
if its too late just say a prayer,
and watch it fly along the tunnel into the light.
(obviously that depends on the wings being there but walking is good 4 u!)

you sing 'walking in the air' to it.
Moths love a bit of Aled Jones.
