I sometimes sit and chat to her but she never chats to me asks how I am if I'm ok etc. The only time she does is when she is trying to find out if I have found someone from a matromonial website to marry or if she is serving me food.
It has always been this way. Can it change?

I suggest that you engage her in conversation that requires her to explain things and as a result say more. Ask her questions that force her to talk 'n talk 'n talk. You could also just tell her straight up that you are not happy with your relationship and would like her to open up more and talk about other things and actually do fun stuff together. Me and my mom have that kind of relationship and are great friends - and if your mom is there and alive you do't wanna miss having that for anything in the world. If you cannnot talk to her get someone who can - a friend of hers - your granny [ her own mom] or even your dad! but just try to make that connection. & I wish the best for you and your mom. oh one other thing! If you are dating discuss him with her, talk about your boyfriends and ask her about hers before she met your dad!! & have a good laugh over it!!

If this is something that is bothering or concerning you, I suggest sitting down with her one time and telling her how you feel about your relationship and how your communication isn't going well. Tell her that talking to her is important to you and how maybe you should talk about something other than marriage and food.

Do something "fun" together
chick stuff
shopping, bingo, summat like that. you dont mention a "dad" in all of this, or a job, or friends...
you need to give the full picture in order for people to understand how her relationships with others differs (or not) with her relationship with you..

allways make sure that she allways knows that you love her no mater what. tell her that over and over again. dont worry there are some people that have problems with being sensetive its just a question of character. i have tones of friends like that. and allways remember no matter if she doesnt know how to show it she allways loves YOU.

she's waiting for you to get married and have kids she wants grand kids and then yall would have a relationship.. but take your time in finding the right one

Seems like she wants you married.
Talk to her/ if you feel un loved
Tell her how you feel about marriage, anything to open her up so she will talk to you.
