I'm not afraid of dying. I really have faith that there is an afterlife that is better than this. I think if you live a decent life, you should not be afraid of dying. Be kind to people, don't hurt children, animals, anything weaker than you are.
Afraid of the dying process, yes. I don't want pain. I don't want to be a burden on others. I don't want to worry about who will take care of me if I become unable to take care of myself. I worry about my kids and those I leave behind.
Don't be afraid of dying when your number comes up...just don't try jumping to the head of the line!

Like one of the other posters, I'm more afraid of the pain that might result in the death itself rather than being dead.

I look forward to finding out what's on the other side. Is there a heaven/hell? Am I going to be a ghost who's unable to let go of the past? Will I be reincarnated? Will my soul have the power to travel the universe and find out what's out there? Or am I simply going to end up as worm food?

No, I made peace with the idea of dying a long, long time ago. The only thing I worry about is that I cause suffering to my family by getting a lingering disease or something that causes me to be a burden on them.

I do however worry about my man dying all the time. He drives a lot for work, and I worry, worry, worry.

No why should a person be afraid of dying?
Everyone has to face death sooner or later. I can recall my Granddad asking the Methodist preacher when I was about 14 years old is there such thing as heaven or hell. The preacher replied back to my granddad that he could not answer that question that we can only go by the bible.
The preacher respected my granddad for asking that question.
We will only find out when it comes to our turn to die.

I for one am not afraid of death, no. Been very close once and that IS the only way to know if you are or not afraid of it. But this is a very personal question for most that have been in a situation like that. If you tell people you are not afraid of it like i have, they tend to misconstrue it to mean that you WANT to die. And wanting to die is definitely different than being afraid of it.

I am not afraid of dying. I only care about death because I am alive, and when I am dead I cease to care.

I am afraid of leaving my loved ones behind before I am ready.

I am afraid of my loved ones leaving me before I can fully love them as much as they deserve.

Yes, and I think about it at least once a day. I don't understand people who aren't afraid. If you think about it from a non-spiritual, physical sense, ceasing to exist is a heavy concept. It's really fubar if you think about what it really is. can't get my brain around it...
