I'm being told that it is possible I have already gotten pregnant after my miscarriage. Are the chances even better after having the D & C done?

A D & C is where they go in and dilate your cervix and scrape everything out of your uterus.

My OB didn't tell me how long to wait. The night of my followup my husband had a dream that I was already pregnant and it was obvious. He said that we had talked about how quick it happened so soon after my miscarriage.

Yes, it's possible. It's been shown that women that have just gone through pregnancy are still fertile within the first 4-6 weeks, and that's why breastfeeding moms are often put on the minipill (that's also why they tell you to not even have sex, aside from the pain and other problems it could cause).

I lost my first pregnancy almost 2 years ago, had a D&C, then got pregnant 2 months later on Clomid. My doctor didn't tell me to wait, but I guess that depends on how far along you are when you lose it.

And I'm sorry you had to go through the pain of a miscarriage :( Keep your head up and keep trying!!

I had a miscarriage as well. I asked the Doctor how long to wait before trying again for a baby. He told me not to worry and to try and get pregnant again. He also mentioned that you are the most fertile in the first 3 months after having a miscarriage. (not sure how true, but what I was told) Good luck to you!

I had a miscarriage in March, and a D & C done too. My OB told me to have 3 normal periods before I tried to get pregnant again. I did as she told me,and I'm 21 wks. pregnant now...and everything is going well.

I had a d&c two weeks ago, and just had my follow up OB appointment yesterday. The doctor told me that it's ok for my husband to try again after my first period. It varies from person to person, and how your body is handling having the miscarriage and the d&c. And just because you're ready physically doesn't mean that you're ready mentally and emotionally.
