We just got our christmas tree. I think it is a Doug fir(?) I would love to let my ball python get lost in our tree. I know they are allergic to cedar, is there any other wood they should not be around. I think this would be a fun play ground for her. And , Yes I will keep the lights off while she is in there. I will not put her in there till I get some responses. Thank you.. No rude commets please.

We have an artificial Christmas tree and we'd let our king snake climb for hours. When we get our boa, she'll get a chance to climb too. Some snakes climb better than others, so be careful. If the snake becomes clumsy they may fall, so keep an eye on them.

Pine oils are not good for snakes either. I wouldn't take the chance.

Besides that the snake could easily get out of sight and become lost.

I would think that you pet snake might get poked by the needles of the tree? I know that when we put ours up I got poked by the sharp needles on the trunk.

Ball pythons don't like to climb trees. They are forest bottom dwellers and spend their entire life on the forest floor or very close to it.
