The purpose of All-in-ones is that it is a one peice diapering system, you shouldn't have to add anything inside (unless you are using it overnight and need extra absorbancy). And you definitely shouldn't have to cover it. If you do, then it either isn't an AIO, or it is a very poor quality one. The outside of the AIO diaper is waterproof. Sometimes the top is nylon, or a water proof laminated fabric. Sometimes the laminate is underneath a top fabric, so you will not be able to tell initially, if it is an AIO. But if you pinch the top fabric together with the next layer or two of fabric, they should slide together easily. Some AIOs can be topped with fleece opposed to nylon or pul (waterproof laminate).

If what you bought was Sears brand, I wouldn't be impressed either. If it was Kushies or Kooshies brand, I have heard that they work for a lot of people.

Most people who cloth diaper buy their diapers on the internet as most stores do not sell quality cloth diapers (as you are finding out). If you are interested in online shopping, www.katieskisses.com, and www.allnaturalbabies are good places to shop.

If you want to give AIOs another shot, I would highly recommend Bumkins. They're easy to use, cute, and trim like a disposable- babysitters, dads, and grandmas love them! Motherease are also a good brand, I think you can these directly from the website.

If you go to the Bumkins website, you can fill in your zip code to find retailers near you. I would recommend calling before you go to the store for them, though. As some retailers may only carry some of Bumkins other products, like bibs and diaper bags, and may not carry Bumkins AIOs. But if you do find a retailer near you that carries their products, but not their diapers- you could probably ask them to special order them for you.

Good luck!
