It is a sin and i find it gross. I don't hate anybody because of it. Am i a biggot for disagreeing? I treat gay people like human beings, but because I don't agree with their life style i guess it means my heart is full of hate in society's opinion.

it's because Satan has a way of deceiving people before they get a chance to find out how wonderful Christ Jesus is...Satan wants' people to get his A.I.D.S, and all of his STD's,...Satan wants people to commit suicide, and be miserable and addicted to drugs...it is a sin, and although we are not to judge others, they judge us for having our faith and taking a stand for our beliefs..I don't hate anyone,...I can't in good conscience, condone those things that Our Father, has condemned....I do not hate the sinner, because our sins are all the same...but I cannot encourage a lifestyle, that ususally ends up so sad....If they want to live that lifestyle, they are the ones who answer to God for it,...you are not full of hate,..that is the common myth..you are just making your vote for the side you're on..the side of God and Jesus..

No, you are neither a biggot nor a hate monger, provided, as you've said, you treat Gay people like Human Beings. That's all anyone really asks, to be treated like a Human Being and not a thing or somethign slimy. Unfortunately for us and others, like in the Religion and spirituality Section, we've had a great deal of Trolls here that spread too much hate. If you find homosexuality a sin fine. I don't. Let's agree to disagree and get on with our lives. At least you're honest about it. Blessings.

I take a bit of an issue with something said earlier that you might misunderstand to be correct:
"Do you recognize that it's somehow defective, and conclude that it therefore has no right to be enjoyed or enjoyable? Hey, the enjoyable part is its saving grace!!"
I want to point out that while homosexuality is not the norm, and may be caused by switching some sort of hormone dose in fetus development, it shouldn't be called a defect per se, if a percentage of such "switches" are programmed to occur naturally.
Only when the condition prevents optimum performance in a specific area could it be called a defect, and the defectiveness would then be a relative condition, not an inherent one.
Similarly, the term "mistake" has been used in the same sense when referring to the switch or whatever causes the homosexual orientation. But arguably nature does not make mistakes - otherwise mutations would be seen as mistakes rather than an integral part of the evolutionary process.
So you may want to keep these thoughts in mind when deciding if it's right to call nature's machinations sinful in and of themselves..

Well this all depends. From this question alone I wouldnt say you are a homophobe, biggot or hate mongerer. However, lets ask a few questions about your behavior to see if you are a homophobe, biggot, or hate mongerer. If you found out a homosexual was teaching your child english in school would you try to get the teacher fired? (homophobic action) Do you preach about homosexuals going to hell and yet dont question whether murderers, rapists, or athiests can find the lord? (biggot) Do you say that homosexuals deserve to die, that they are the cause of HIV or any other STD? (Hate Mongerer)
Things like these are the things that homosexuals detest because it is unfair, so if you just believe that homosexuality is wrong then you are able to feel that, but if you treat them like another species then you are guilty of what homosexuals accuse you of.

You're considered a homophobe because you're a homophobe. If you're personally opposed to homosexuality, that's a pretty solid textbook definition of "homophobe".

You're considered a bigot because you believe homosexuality is a sin. That's a fairly prejudicial statement; remember, in someone else's religion, your entire religion is a sin. Does anyone ever tell you about your sinful lifestyle? If so, how does that make you feel? Not good, I would expect.

And you're considered a hate-monger either a) because you're a hate-monger, or b) because homophobic bigots are usually hate-mongers and you're being unfairly lumped in with that group. If it's the former, please, for the sake of those people who have to deal with you, be less hate-mongering. If it's the latter, that's just something you'll have to put up with until you stop being a non-hate-mongering homophobic bigot.

You mean there are sins that you don't find gross? Or do you mean it's a sin because it's a temptation and you wonder why something considered gross by your preacher is so tempting?

And do you really "think" homosexuality is wrong - or does not wanting to think about it have a bearing on these opinions?

Do you recognize that it's somehow defective, and conclude that it therefore has no right to be enjoyed or enjoyable?

Hey, the enjoyable part is its saving grace!!

I find it offensive, and more of an ethical and moral sin (rather than religious) when I hear about men screwing around on their wives. Doesn't make me anti men though.

I think G/L are more sensitive to the word "SIN" and it's all some people can hear. You're entitled to think it's gross. Me, I think it's gross the thought of being with another woman. But if some women are happier that way, fine. I'm sure some think it's gross to be with a man. It's ok for her to think straight sex is gross, just as it is for me the other way around.

Let's be clear though, I find the activity gross. Not the person. We have different tastes. Like some people like coffee, some gag at the thought.

Because of people's sensitivities, we now live in a world that if your thought process isn't PC then best keep it to yourself, lest you be labelled. Maybe it makes people feel better to label you if they think they've been labelled. Who knows?

Don't worry about. Just treat everyone respectfully and don't worry about what they do in their own bedrooms.

First of all, I'm a straight male, with a wonderful wife. Second, I've read the bible through and through, and fail to see what makes it a sin. All the verses people use against homosexual relationships actually talk about violent crime (the story of lot), activities outside a relationship, or the specific rules of the jewish people. Nowhere in the bible does it specifically speak of a committed, caring relationship. Third, the fact that you condemn gays as sinners because of YOUR beliefs is a sin in itself. Judge not lest ye be judged. Your opinion is based on your own religious beliefs, and your own personal experience. You are entitled to it, just as gays are entitled to live without being condemned by you and others as sinners.

You're entitled to feel however you want, but it's clear that the only reason you're coming into this section is to express your dislike for gay people. That in itself proves that you are trying to get people angry and upset, and that is a very common trait in people who are bigots and haters against other groups and cultures! It's what people like the KKK do!
You're not entering a section for those of you who are the against the gay lifestyle to talk and discuss your feeling's, you're entering a section where the majority of people are gay and sharing questions, views and thoughts about the way they live their lives, so besides trying to get people mad, what other reason would you have for coming on this part of Yahoo Answers? Yeah, you have the right to be in here, but you're only here to criticize and put these people down. I would think if you just disagree with the lifestyle and it truly bothers you that much, it would seem to me that you wouldn't want to be here where most people are the very thing you're so against. Certainly if it's not about causing trouble, you wouldn't be here.

Biblical scholars who have dedicated lifetimes to studying the Bible in it's original languages and how it changed with each interpretation agree that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality.

Your refusal to understand this fact leads people to the opinion that you are hateful and bigoted.

You are well within your rights to find something distasteful. My advice would be don't hang out with gay people....including coming to this section.

If you think it's a sin then you shouldn't be gay. Going up to others and berating them because they are Gay is wrong. Would you enjoy having a ham sandwich slapped out of your hand by Islamic or Jewish people? You are free to feel whatever you feel. When you begin to negatively affect others lives with your opinions then yes, you become a bigot.
