there's a reason for everything. sometimes we don't know what it is.
Being born probably makes you pretty sore, squashing your skull through that tiny hole....
be patient, Mom, eventually you'll figure it out, or they'll figure out how to tell you. Ask an experienced parent to look at your baby. If you feel frustrated, you're not alone.

Why is almost everyone on here being so rude to this new mom. Babies dont come with instruction manuals. The baby is trying to communicate that something is wrong, or bothering him. If you have tried changing him, feeding him, holding or comforting him, reading to him, if you feel you have tried everything call the doctor and ask thier professional opinion. I myself asked this same question with my son and it turns out that he had GERDs a baby gas disease and wasnt being able to keep all of his food down and when we called the doctor they told us what to do and ever since then he has been the happiest little man ever. He's 2 now and if you ever need anything just email me. To everyone else out there have some sympathy, you werent all perfect parents either you all had questions and needed answers so be a little bit more respectful.

I beg of you..for your babies health..get your self a book on the development of babies. Or take a course..or join a mother's group held by a nurse..something..anything to educate yourself somewhat on babies and children.
Your baby is not "screaming" for no reason. She is tired..hungry..wet..lonely..gassy..sick..something. You as a mom must find out what is bothering her. They have no other way to communicate at all. This was natures way to let them say something needs to be done here mom. Do not yell at her..do not ignore her..do not become frustrated..she can hardly tell you in any other means what is wrong.

Unless it is colic, there is a reason.
How would you like it if you where cozy in the womb for 9 months and all of a sudden your in the cold world. You dont know who these people are, why there putting stuff all over you, you want things on demand. Etc.

There is always a reson for a newborn's cry. They have different cries and as a mom you will be able to distinguish what each cry means. It may takes some time, but you will eventually know what the baby is crying for based on his/her cry.

Do you mean, "...for no REASON"?????
The do cry for a reason. They've been pulled out of a 100-degree dark place and been thrown, soaking wet, into a 65-degree place with lots of lights.
And then swatted on the butt or feet until they cry.
Heck, I'd be p*ssed too!!!

Babies cry to communicate, if they are hungry, cold all that stuff. But they also cry to try out there lungs, and sometimes they just need to cry.

there is always a reason why they cry.. mostly they want to be held.. and talked too.. they are lonely and can't do alot as a baby..
the hardest part is us figuring out what it is that they want..

You would too, if you couldn't communicate any other way that you were lonely, hungry or soaking wet .
