My surname is very important to me. Surnames does not influence my decisions any way. A fool can come from any family whether royal, elite or poor family.

I am proud of my surname. I think it's a rotten shame that most women lose theirs when they marry. A surname wouldn't influence my decision in voting.

I don't think that surnames bother me too much. However, if I meet and then want to marry a man who has a surname that doesn't really fit with mine (or makes something like the name of a celebrity or something) then I might think twice about changing it, or just hypenating my name instead of taking theirs. So I guess that bothers me the most.
surnames of no-SO's or public figures don't bother me at all

i love my surname so i wager it is quite major to me, yet i'd be superb replacing it after I get married if my husband has a surname that is even cooler than mine or a minimum of if that is a reliable surname :)

They are not significant in voting but occasionally I feel sorry for people who become famous and have one of those last names just begging to be made fun of.
