The characters are from a play

Like when I refer to a character. Like the character named Boy Willie for example. Do I need to put his name in quotations every time I mention his name?

If your paper is on a book, the character need not be set off by any type of special punctuation.

As you would write anybody's name. For example, say you're writing on Ian Fleming. You would write something like "Ian Fleming's James Bond is probably the most famous literary spy in history."
