i was just on my way home from the shop,the electric had run out.....yet again.Thought id go on my spacehopper to make it quicker as id left a pie in the oven.When i got in i,attached the torch back on to my head so i could see what i was doing and the biggest spider i have ever seen scuttled out of the electric cupboard.I mean it had to be the size of a bowl.Is this normal in the UK?

Never heard of any that size in UK. Maybe somebodies pet got away? EEeeeewww I'd be looking for another place to live....

That's pretty big. I have seen some 2-3 inches but they are called wolf spiders.
