My husband and I found out we were pregnant Nov. 7. I was bleeding and went to the ER. They scheduled me for an u/s. They couldn't see anything. I continued to bleed for another week. The bleed kept stopping and starting. I had at least 4 u/s and numerous blood tests to check the levels. They only went up to 56 and then dropped back down. I had a D & C the day before Thanksgiving. My husband and I were together the night of my followup and the following night. What are the chances that I got pregnant again?

I am afraid that if I do get pregnant again that it will also result in a miscarriage, which will make it the third for me.

It has been said that women are more fertile for 3 months following a miscarriage. It's as if the body is saying "Oops. Sorry about that. Let's try again." :) However, it takes time for the body to be prepared again - you should probably have a normal cycle before trying, just to make sure that everything is how it should be.

You mentioned that you've had 3 prior miscarriages. Have you had a doc check you out? Repeated miscarriages can be a sign of low progesterone levels (progesterone being the hormone that creates the uterine lining). If the levels are too low then the lining won't be thick enough to sustain a pregnancy and you will continue to suffer losses. I would definitely advise getting a 7dpo (days past ovulation) progesterone check (NOT a cd21 check, as that isn't accurate).

I wish you lots of success in your next pregnancy and pray that you will be able to hang on to this one.

I had a miscarriage less than two years ago...March 05. I got pregnant two weeks later and had him around New years and the doctor said that after a miscarriage your body is extremely fertile for 6 weeks following it.

Pretty good. So long as you were ovulating. Its actually pretty common to get pregnant directly following a miscarriage. Especially if your body aborted the pregnancy due to an unviable ovum or embryo.

I had my first miscarriage in February, and then got pregnant again RIGHT after. It ended up in miscarriage too, unfortunately for me...but my nephew's mom got pregnant with her second baby right after a miscarriage and delivered a healthy baby girl.

Your chances are very good just as good as becoming pregnant after you have had a baby.
