Well, Osiris is a pretty good brand. But, shoes are just one of those things you have to replace fairly often, so I reccomend going cheaper. I got a pair of $20 shoes from Pay Less Shoes, and they went way further than the $20 would have went on some D3's.
I don't remember the particular brand of those shoes, but if I was still into skateboarding, that's definately the way to go if you don't mind the fact they don't look as good as the $100+ pair.
EDIT: If you're just looking to get your money's worth, a good pair of shoes, reguardless of how they look (skateboarding shoes always look good, reguardless of brand ;), don't be drawn into the big brands. For one; posers buy shoes from the bigger brands just as much as normal skaters do. Second; they last one or two months longer, but cost five times the price. And third; you don't just wanna blend into the crowd, do ya? I mean, you never know if some cheap brand of shoe is gonna be skyrocketed to popular by some amazing skater ;P

My etnies have always lasted longer than my DCs, vans or Adios. But its different for everyone cause everyone walks a little different. Plus I have to wear the little boy shoes.

I have had a pair of VANS for like 8 years- they are AWESOME. Though I haven't bought VANS since they got bought out by Nike so who knows about the quality since then... also I heard DC's are pretty sweet.
