While this has never happened to me personally, I do know someone who had a similar experience.
If I were you, the first thing I would do is look into smudging the rooms that feel the most disturbing to you. Smudging is a blessing ritual so if you'd feel more comfortable with a minister or your pastor you can approach them to perform the service for you.
I'd then talk to a few people who are sensitive to the paranormal and, without giving them too much information, see who you feel has a good sense of what might be going on in the house, or see if Derek is free for the weekend - whatever works for you. If this is an active haunting with a negative energy then the blessing can be a cure all, but if this is an entity that's trying to make contact with you for some reason the blessing may not be fully effective as the spirit is not intending any harm to you, just get their message to someone who is able to listen. You might be there to help someone move on or give someone closure, so don’t just assume the worst right out of the gate. Active spirits typically respond to your intent so asking them, aloud, to leave you alone (and mean it) can limit their influence over you and the space you claim as your own.
The final theory is that you have a passive haunting, this is not an active ghost but the energy left from the people or events that took place in the past. Think of it as a spiritual DVR that's replaying the same activity over and over without really caring or knowing you're even there. With passive a haunting a medium or spiritual advisor can work with you, maybe put some crystals in the areas affected to change the energy or vibrations of the rooms in question.
Good Luck.

A new house or fairly old house will make all kinds of odd noises, especially when the temperature changes. Building materials expand and contract, insulation will settle, insects or rodents may move within the walls, seeds and sticks land on the roof. Many natural occurences can help explain the noises.
Also, any fumes coming off of new carpeting or paint can cause weird dreams because of the toxins you are breathing in.
And don't forget that anxiety can magnify sounds and other sensations. Add to that the fact that you and your husband were enforcing each others scared thoughts and you have the makings of a good "ghost" story.
In the house where you live now, keep things clean and aired out and the next time one of you starts to get the scardies, hopefully the other one will help to calm the situation instead of worsening it.

my mom used to see dead people, and i have a friend who sees them once in a blue moon. I feel like somethings watching me everyonce in a while. Maybe the house was haunted. There could of been something bad that had happened in the house in the past. I don't doubt that you really saw it. Ghosts and demons are very real. But even though what you saw probably weren't demons, it was probably a spirit that was or is troubled. Hopefully it can't hurt anybody, but I don't think it can. It's a good thing you left the house, something bad could've have occured. one question: what's a "hubby"?

Yes I think there were ghosts there and something must have happened there. I would not have stayed there either. I stayed in my flat in India alone and I was laying on my son's bed and felt an enormous black presence behind me. something went through my head that I should not move or it would harm me so I stayed motionless for at least half an hour till the thing went away. I told other people in the building and they were all scared. Up to today I still dont know what it was. All I know was that there was a deep fear inside me that I was about to be badly hurt by that black enormous presence.

I've had some strange experiences myself. In my old apartment, the kitchen sink water would turn on full blast all by itself. And I had a closet light that would turn on and off by itself. I've read that ghosts may appear to one person, but not to another even though they are in the same room. But then my religion teaches that ghosts are really demons that pefectly mimic a person that has died. It's a haunting whether it be ghosts or demons. Good Luck!

Definitely sounds like something weird is going on there. As for the black shadows that you saw, they could be shadow people. Some people see them and others do not which may explain why your husband didn't see them. I see shadow people but mine have never done anything, although some people say that they have evil ones. Some people say that they are like guardian angels, which I feel mine are. Others say that they have shadow people which are more like demonic entities.

I won't say yes and I won't say no to whether something supernatural is occuring. I know several people who have reported success with having their house blessed. You might also want to check for any type of natural gas leaks, carbon monoxide levels, and other phenomenon that could cause sleep disturbances and possible hallucinations.

No, you're probably just imaging things. Lock the doors if you don't want people wandering in, and try sleep medication for your apparent sleep problem and lucid dreaming. Talk to your doctor about fixing that. There's no such thing as ghosts.

Sounds creepy, I wouldn't call anyone just yet, you need to make sure your house is not haunted, wait for more strange stuff for confirmation. Could just be your brain.
