Knowing something you don't want to know can be more hurtful than not knowing something you do want to know, because you didn't want that information in the first place.

knowing something you don't want to know is worse because there is no way for you to unknown (besides bashing your head until you lose brain function)
where all you have to do is take the time to find out what you want to know when it comes to not knowing what you want to know.
