I just went to KFC and I ordered a 3 Chicken Strip Meal with extra Potato Wedges... so it cost $3.20? I gave the lady a $20, I got $16.80 back. Then the manager comes up and says, "what's the order." They talk a bit and end up giving me $12.00 more. The meal I got was 2 KFC Snackers and Potato Wedges... crap... I didn't say anything took the extra money and my food.
So I got a free meal and 8 bucks.

I was a cashier for many years. My drawer was 99% of the time right. If my drawer was off even 5cents I was worried. I wouldn't take your money and when this happens your job is threatened. I would have taken it back and told them that not only did they screw up the money, they screwed up the order and that somebody needs to look into it. They can in fact trace the order back. Some places make you pay it back and then fire you on the spot. Sometimes they even give you coupons for coming back and don't take back the money. Honesty is worth everything.

I have always returned the change except for once. I was travelling and went through a drive-thru, and got back on the interstate. It wasn't until I got home and looked in my wallet and realized I still had $18. I'd only had a $20 to begin with. I wasn't going to drive 100 miles to give them $3.50.

you did the right thing, it was your chance to have the upper hand. not kfc, but i've gone through the drive-through and once i got home , would be missing certain items and sometimes a meal.this is your lucky day. get yourself some lottery tickets, money like this does not come so often.

I would have called them on the mistake and given the money back. Even when I was a single mom living payday-payday I had to do the right thing, cause I always taught my kids "what goes around, comes around"!

Right off he bat I always feel the cashier has to make up the difference. So I would have returned it. BUT if I knew no one got hurt financially except the place itself; I would have taken the money and run.

well, you just got lucky, dont feel so bad!
i mean, what kind of manager is so absent minded to the point where he just gives out money....musn't be a very good manager.
but if it was me and i got all that money and realized it right then, i would have said something, just because I'm a way too honest person.
but seriously dude, it was your lucky day, not like you stole the money.

Try and give it back. I emphasize the word "try", one time I actually had a cashier argue with me about it, so I just kept the extra money ($10).

Just return the change!
People do make mistakes. On occasion, I,ve had bills stick together and the cashier, returned my over payment. Play fair!

I would have done the same thing. I probably would have felt bad at first, but then I would have gone and spent the money right away so I woudn't have any evidence of my guilt.

I would immediately tell the cashier and straighten the situation out... just kidding! I would walk out of there smiling to myself.
Does this make me a bad person?
