whats the difference between trance and techno?

Trance is more ambient. It has a more airy feel to it, whereas techno is more to-the-point. Techno has crisper edges than Trance.

Trance is more melody based and contains a 4/4 beat with around 135-145 BPM. Also, it is more synth-driven and has common hard bass lines. Techno on the other hand doesnt use many synth lines and is more open to different BPM.
