I im trading in my old x box wiht out a doubt, but i heard you can play x box games in the new 360. So i was going to keep my new madden 07(for the xbox system). But then my step brotehr said that i cant play online with it and the graphics wont be any differnt, still the same old ones? can you confirm this or tell me why i cant play 360 online with a xbox game? and are the grahics any differnet?

While everyone is right about it not working, they are wrong about the graphics.
The 360 DOES upscale, unlike Sony's ugly beast. But the best graphics would still come from a 360 version of any given game. Upscaling doesn't automatically give a game next-gen graphics. It just enhances them.

The new sport games (2007 Madden and whatnot) for xbox WILL NOT PLAY on 360. You have to get the 360 version. As for the old xbox games working for 360, a lot of games work for 360 but there are some that don't. Anyway, you have to have an internet connection because you have to be able to download updates to play the old games. I had to download an update last year to play Halo 2 and again to play Star Wars Battlefront. :)

well if you get the core system you cant play any xbox games on the xbox 360 the core system is the cheaper 400 dollar one or else you have to get the hard drive for 100 dollars to only play some games, and another thing th graphics won't change the will be the same as they were on the xbox i know it sucks but buying the xbox 360 games is worth it trust me the graphics are better than the xbox the only thing that makes the xbox 360 truly special is that every single xbox 360 game has xbox live so yeah it would be worth getting the xbox 360 but you might not get your game to work on it.

I dont know if Madden will or not. I was trying to play a game i have on Xbox for it but i think since there was a newerr version (with 360) it wouldnt update.
There is however a list of Xbox games that have been updated that you can get onto your 360 (dont know the exact web site) but you can see whats availble.
I dont know about online play on that either, but in order to get any xbox game to play on it, you must have online connection to the 360. When you put in a compatable game it will say (if its compatable) that there is an update for the game. you must install this update. then it will run.

keep your old xbox you cant play many of the games for the origional xbox on the 360

Your brother is right. The networks are incompatible. And you can't "Upscale" to better graphics. Think about it, there would be no purpose for buying Madden 07 for the 360 if you could just buy it for XBOX and upscale it. Also, Madden isn't on the following list of games that CAN be played on 360:
