RAther than staying in the same genre, or type of music which is so similar to what you like, stick with 'Death Cab for Cutie" and then add to your music experience by finding something new and unusual.
Try some Moody Blues, or Leonard Skynrd or pick up a Leonard Cohen or Joe Cocker. Try to expand your love of music.
